Innovative event brings together Brazilian Carnival lovers in London showcasing classic hits of all time
The carnival from Brasil goes way beyond samba, mulatas and caipirinhas, it’s a state of mind, when people of all creeds and races get together to celebrate life. Thinking about it, the ‘Made in Carnaval’ party has come to warm up the british winter. L.A.B (Laboratory Anglo-Brasileiro) has put together an evening of brazilian rythms for all admirers of its culture, in a partnership with Made in Brasil, JungleDrums, Canal Londres & Eleven Culture.
L.A.B will cover the spirit of carnival with four different setlists, curated specially for the ocasion. The DJs (Amaral Amarall, Lira, DiM, Lol) will hit the downstairs dance floor, while upstairs, a band will be playing carnival classics. The event happens on March 5th, from 7pm – 1 am, at Made in Brasil, Camden Town. £6
Toss toss! Confetti and stream rolls to be tossed in the air to get the festive vibe started. The first 40 people will get their kits. Costumes are welcome!

Made in Carnaval
L.A.B. will develop four set lists which will cover the following topics: “Carnival Storytelling”, playing songs from Carnival origins to its present days (DJ DM) “Bahia all times”, playing up all times songs, riffs and beats from Bahian Carnaval (DJ Lira); “Just push play for fuleragy”, a mix of funny trashy Carnival hits (DJ LoL); and to end “Crossover BR-UK”, playing Carnival influenced hit (DJ Amaral Amarall).
Laboratory Anglo-Brasileiro
L.A.B. Project promote the interaction between Brazilian and British culture. The laboratory is composed by four members-founders, based in London: Christiano Amaral, filmmaker and DJ “Amaral Amarall”; Tiago Di Mauro, filmmaker, producer and curator; Lívia Rangel, cultural journalist and editor at Eleven Culture magazine – especialized in contemporary Brazilian music; and Carolina Nunes, cultural producer and jewelry designer.
Promotion of Brazilian Artists
‘Made in Carnaval’ will launch L.a.b’s partnership with brazilian best illustrators and graphic designers, featuring their art in the promotional material of upcoming events. In this first edition, the guest artist is Caramuru Baumgartner, from Pernambuco, where mangue beat was born and also famous for it’s democratic carnival.
